He printed on Moab Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 paper . I read some great reviews about this paper . And the price is right

Steve McCurry launched a new book this summer with Phaidon . Steve McCurry : The Iconic Photographs Limited Edition . At the Phaidon website he is also doing a series of 1-minute masterclasses , which I think are excellent resources for any aspiring photographer

IWC & Peter Lindbergh

A NIGHT IN PORTOFINO ad campaign is a very nice example of cooperation between photographer and big company . Georges Kern CEO IWC have told Peter Lindbergh :  ” Don’t make it look  like we want to sell watches . ” And he did just that . He created beautiful images with 50′- 60′ spirit in the air . Some really big names where casted for a shoot .

Second best part of the campaign , is that IWC goes around the world with photo exhibition and printed publication .

PRINT

Epson did a really nice ad campaign for their Signature Worthy Papers . Names like : Greg Gorman ,  David Lynch , Steve McCurry , Vincent Versace , Lois Greenfield , Art Wolf and many others participated in a project .

This inspired me to  print two photographs after quite some while . Actually , last print I made in a dark room , 7 years ago . This time I used Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth  on HP Z series printer .

The prints are 152cm X 115cm . Having in mind that files are coming from Nikon D200 I was concerned about print quality . How ever , they came out great . I was really blown away with the results . So I am going to print much often now . It’s a great filing seeing print coming to life .

MOVIES

One of the good ways to learn photography is by watching great cinematographers  . The first one to come to my mind is late Conrad l. Hall . Among many films he did , Road to Perdition stand out like real masterpiece . That is his last movie and he won an Oscar for best cinematography in 2002 . If you have not sean it , I envy you . If you did , watch it again and pay closer attention  to cinematography . Still photographer was Francois Duhamel . He has some impressive films under his belt
